Why we build skiffs this way
Shallow water fishing asks for a different kind of boat. You need a hull that floats high, a platform that feels solid under a push pole, and a layout that keeps casting lanes clear when a fish shows fifty feet ahead.
Flying Fish Skiffs is focused on that problem: flats and inshore skiffs for serious coastal anglers who care about draft, poling, and quiet runs. We treat design as craft — clean lines, considered materials, and details that hold up to long days in salt and sun.
What we optimize for
Every example model on this site starts from the same priorities: get into thin water, stay quiet when it counts, and give you a deck that works with how you actually fish — not against it.
We’re not trying to be every boat for every bay. We’re building around the skinny-water edge: grass flats, mangrove edges, and the places where a few inches of draft changes the day.
